Federal Highway Police Seize R$1 Million Worth of Perfumes and Beverages on BR-290

The Federal Highway Police (PRF) seized a shipment of perfumes and alcoholic beverages without proper documentation on BR-290 in Rosário do Sul. The stop took place on Friday night (3). Two men were arrested during the operation.
The seizure occurred during a crime-fighting operation. Police officers stopped two vehicles traveling on the highway and, upon conducting an inspection, found that both were transporting foreign goods without legal proof of import.
According to the PRF, the drivers reported that they had left the region bordering Uruguay. The cargo was valued at approximately R$ 1 million and included 244 units of alcoholic beverages and 628 items of cosmetics and perfumes.
The products were being transported in a Volkswagen Virtus with license plates from Belo Horizonte and in a Mercedes-Benz C180 registered in Santana do Livramento.
