Federal Revenue seizes BRL 700,000 in smuggled goods

Four buses carrying smuggled goods were seized by the Federal Revenue Service in a joint operation with the Federal Police on Wednesday (27). The bust took place on the BR-277 motorway, between Santa Terezinha de Itaipu and São Miguel do Iguaçu, in western Paraná.

The irregular goods were in the luggage compartments of buses that left Foz do Iguaçu for São Paulo. The total value of the seizure is over BRL 700,000. Among the goods were alcoholic beverages, various electronics, computer accessories, smartphones, perfumery items, clothing, cosmetics, olive oil and electronic cigarettes.

The items and the vehicles were sent to the Federal Revenue Customs Office in Foz do Iguaçu for enquiry and proper protocol. All the passengers were released.
