One of the suspects was arrested in Paraguay and another in Minas Gerais; medicines, of brands whose importation is prohibited in Brazil by Anvisa, were advertised and sold through digital platforms.

Two women were arrested by the Federal Police (PF) for smuggling weight loss drugs during “Operation Good Shape,” which began on Thursday (19).
One of the suspects was arrested in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay, and will be extradited and handed over in Foz do Iguaçu (PR). The second suspect was arrested in São José da Barra, Minas Gerais.
According to the PF, both are under investigation for being part of a network involved in the illegal import and distribution of smuggled weight loss drugs, as well as other products such as cell phones and perfumes. The investigation revealed that the drugs were advertised and sold through digital platforms.
The corporation also reported that the materials are brands that are prohibited from being imported into Brazil by Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency). The products are not registered in the country and do not undergo any official quality, safety, or efficacy controls, including a high level of counterfeiting.
In addition to the arrests, the Federal Court ordered the seizure of assets and funds up to the amount of R$ 500,000. Social networks used for the sale of illicit products were also blocked.
