Inspection Targets Illegal Trade and Seizes Products in Chapecó

The operation brings together security forces and enforcement agencies and has already identified a large volume of illegal goods

A joint operation against counterfeit goods has been underway since Thursday morning (26) in Chapecó. The operation involves various law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies and has already resulted in the seizure of thousands of counterfeit items.


Participating in the operation are the Santa Catarina Civil Police, the Brazilian Federal Revenue, the Santa Catarina State Revenue Service, Procon Chapecó, and the Chapecó Municipal Guard.


According to preliminary information, the illicit and counterfeit origin of a large quantity of products—including footwear, clothing, and accessories, as well as items of foreign origin—has already been confirmed.


Representatives from various brands are monitoring the proceedings, including Nike, Adidas, Puma, Lacoste, Calvin Klein, Vans, Oakley, Fila, Umbro, The North Face, Gucci, Hugo Boss, and Gap, as well as leagues such as the NBA and Major League Baseball.


All identified counterfeit products are being seized and will be used to support administrative, tax, and criminal investigations.


The operation is ongoing, and there is no estimated end date. Further information is expected to be released in the coming days, once the authorities have consolidated the data.
