The Minas Gerais Civil Police (PCMG) launched Operation Forbidden Fruit in Pouso Alegre, in the south of the state, last Friday, September 6. The action against piracy resulted in the seizure of around 13,000 products from six stores in the city center.
The team from the Pouso Alegre Regional Police Station found several items with signs of irregularity, such as cell phone handsets and chargers, phone cases, video game controllers, computers, headphones and other accessories. The products are counterfeits of brands such as Sony and Apple.
The information was only released now because PC was counting the products. Manufacturers warn that pirated products do not comply with safety and quality rules and can cause damage to consumer health.
