A joint operation by the Federal Revenue Service, Federal Highway Police, and Brazilian Army resulted in the seizure of approximately R$ 1.5 million in irregular products. According to information released on Thursday (21), a total of 40 vehicles were detained at the border with Venezuela.

According to the Federal Revenue Service, the action was aimed at combating smuggling, embezzlement, and social security violations. Carried out between August 15 and 18, the operation seized various products, including beverages, clothing, cell phones, caps, and fuel.

The initiative reinforces the ongoing fight against cross-border crimes and expands the inspection of vehicles in irregular situations. The task force also identified the misuse of the temporary admission regime by foreigners residing in Brazil.

According to the agency, the benefit is exclusive to non-residents who use goods temporarily in the country. Those who live in Brazil need to regularize their situation to avoid penalties.
