Contraband perfumes seized in Ponta Porã

The Military Police seized a shipment of contraband perfumes on Monday morning (28) in Sanga Puitã, in the district of Ponta Porã. The operation took place during a patrol by the 3rd Military Police Group in the border area with Paraguay.


The police became suspicious of a vehicle with completely tinted windows and a visible excess of cargo. Upon approaching the vehicle, they found five packages containing imported perfumes without legal documentation.


The driver was unable to explain the origin of the merchandise and did not present an invoice. He was detained and taken, along with the vehicle and the products, to the local Military Group.


All seized material was handed over to the Federal Revenue Service, which will be responsible for the investigation and other legal proceedings.


The operation reinforces the fight against smuggling in the border region.
