Goiás police seize BRL 2 million in smuggled goods

The Goiás Civil Police (PCGO), through the Border Operations Command (COD) and the Police Battalion with Dogs (BPCÃES), seized almost BRL 2 million in smuggled goods from Paraguay on Saturday (14/12).

According to the authorities, the cargo, which was in a truck traveling through the southern region of the state, consisted of cell phones, tablets, electronic cigarettes, smart watches, wines, perfumes and various other electronic devices - all manufactured in China and transported without the proper invoices and authorizations.

The truck was on its way from the state of São Paulo to Maranhão. The seized cargo was sent to the Federal Revenue headquarters in Goiânia. One man was arrested and placed under the responsibility of the Federal Police (PF).
