More than 13,000 counterfeit products were seized and a man was arrested in the act during a Civil Police operation on Monday (6) at Feiraguay, in Feira de Santana, around 100 km from Salvador. The place is the largest informal trading center in the North-Northeast.
Another man suspected of taking part in the crime has already been identified and is being sought. He and the man who was arrested in the act were the owners of the establishments notified.
Operation Simulatum was carried out in three establishments by investigators from the 2nd Police Station in Feira de Santana, the Coordination of Technical Support for the Operation (Cati - Sertão) and the Police Station for the Repression of Theft and Robbery (DRFR), as well as support from the Department of Finance (Sefaz).

According to information from the Civil Police, the investigations began at the beginning of May, after representatives of the original products reported that stores in Feira de Santana were selling and stocking counterfeit products, but using the registered trademarks.
Sefaz inspectors notified the establishments administratively and found possible tax crimes, which will be investigated by the institution's Police Intelligence Department.
The material seized will be sent to the Technical Police Department (DPT). Another suspected participant in the crime has already been identified and is being sought. He and the man who was arrested in the act were the owners of the notified establishment.
