Military Police Seize Large Quantity of Contraband and Smuggled Goods in Frederico Westphalen

The contraband was found during a stop of a vehicle being used as a taxi
On Friday night (March 13), the Military Police, through officers from the 37th Military Police Battalion (37th BPM), seized various contraband and smuggled goods during a stop of a vehicle being used as a taxi.
During the operation, the officers found a large quantity of goods brought in from Paraguay, including electronics, perfumes, cell phone accessories, and foreign-made medications, some of which are prohibited for sale in Brazil.
In total, more than 240 electronic devices were seized, including cell phones of various brands, tablets, laptops, iPhones, electronic equipment, streaming devices, a drone, a video game console, screens, and cell phone accessories. Also seized were more than 100 miscellaneous electronic accessories, various imported perfumes, and more than 80 vials and injectable medications.
During the operation, two people were arrested and admitted ownership of the products. The driver of the vehicle was identified and will be brought in as a witness. The vehicle used to transport the goods was also seized.
In light of these facts, the detainees, the seized items, and the witnesses were taken to the Federal Police headquarters in Santo Ângelo, where the appropriate legal procedures will be carried out.
