Store’s Operations Temporarily Suspended Following Procon MS Inspection
An inspection conducted this Tuesday (7) resulted in the seizure of 1,232 pairs of sneakers—including adult and children’s models—at a store located in downtown Campo Grande. The store’s operations were temporarily suspended.
The operation was conducted by Procon Mato Grosso do Sul following complaints. During the inspection, officials found that the company was operating with an expired location and operating permit and was selling products without invoices of origin.
Labeling deficiencies were also identified, such as the absence of mandatory information, including manufacturer identification and sizing details. According to the agency, the shoes bore characteristics similar to those of well-known brands, which could mislead consumers.
The measure was based on the rules of the CDC (Consumer Protection Code), which ensures protection against products that pose risks or violate consumer rights.
All seized merchandise will be forwarded to the Federal Revenue Service. The company has 20 days to file an administrative defense with Procon MS, an agency affiliated with SEAD (State Secretariat for Social Assistance and Human Rights).
