MP seizes BRL 40,000 in embezzled wines in Cascavel

The Military Police seized a large quantity of embezzled goods in the early hours of Saturday morning (10) in Cascavel. A Chevrolet Onyx vehicle packed with boxes of wine was approached near the Guarujá interchange, on the BR-277 highway, at the entrance to the city.

As reported by CGN, the police became suspicious of the vehicle, which was lowered and suspected of being overweight. During the approach, the police found several boxes of wine totaling around 300 units of the imported product without customs documentation.

The police estimate that the seizure is worth around BRL 40,000 worth of wine. The merchandise was seized and sent to the Regional Flagrants Office and would then be taken to the Federal Revenue warehouse in Cascavel.

The occupants of the vehicle, the driver and the passenger, were released on the spot, but will have to answer to an administrative process for the crime committed.
