Operation in the region shuts down 13 businesses for selling counterfeit beverages

An operation carried out on Friday by the Metropolitan Intelligence Center (CIM) resulted in 13 arrests, 48 products seized, and 13 establishments sealed in the Campinas Metropolitan Region. The joint action by the municipalities aims to combat the illegal market and the sale of counterfeit alcoholic beverages.

According to the Campinas City Hall, 130 establishments were inspected throughout the RMC. The teams inspected 33 wine cellars in the city, with eight people being taken to the Police District for selling counterfeit beverages, expired food, energy theft, and for possessing slot machines. Two detainees were taken to the 6th Police Station. One of them was responsible for three establishments in the Jardim Itatinga neighborhood.

Two other detainees were sent to the 9th Police Station and four to the DIG. Three establishments were sealed by the Department of Urban Planning.
