Operation seizes more than BRL 150 thousand in goods without invoices on motorway in RN

An operation by the State Department of Finance (Sefaz) and the Federal Highway Police (PRF) on Friday (21) resulted in the seizure of more than BRL 150,000 in irregular goods, without invoices. The task force took place on BR 101, in the municipality of Baía Formosa, bordering the state of Paraíba.

Among the materials seized in the lightning operation, carried out from 3pm on Friday until dawn on Saturday, are clothing items and automotive parts. The products were being transported without proof of tax collection. The action prevented an evasion of approximately BRL 52 thousand.

In the action, Sefaz auditors and PRF agents approached all vehicles, including passenger cars, buses, motorbikes, trucks and cargo carriers, which were entering Rio Grande do Norte for inspection.

The barrier was set up on the stretch where the Caraú Integrated Inspection Centre (NIF) is located, reopened in June this year.

Most of the material seized was related to clothing items, purchased in the city of Caruaru, Pernambuco, without invoices.

Under Brazilian law, the purchase, transport and commercialisation of these products without tax proof is considered a crime against the tax order.
