Over a thousand bottles seized in beverage counterfeiting scheme in Mogi das Cruzes

DEIC executed search and seizure warrants in three neighborhoods in the city. Agents found packaging and bottles filled with alcoholic beverages. One person was arrested.

The State Department of Criminal Investigations (Deic) executed search and seizure warrants at three addresses in Mogi das Cruzes against a beverage counterfeiting scheme.

The operation was carried out on Thursday (21) in three neighborhoods: Alto do Ipiranga, Jardim Santos Dummont, and Jardim Armênia. One person was arrested and more than 1,300 bottles were seized.

Investigations indicate that the main products are spirits such as whiskey, vodka, and gin. The products are being collected and will undergo forensic analysis.

According to the investigation, production was carried out on a large scale, which led to the issuance of court warrants.
