PRF seizes around 5,000 pairs of counterfeit shoes on BR-040

The Federal Highway Police (PRF) seized around 5,000 pairs of counterfeit shoes at Km 766 of the BR 040 highway in Juiz de Fora.


The operation took place in the early hours of Thursday morning (12), when police officers approached a M.benz/O 400 Rse Pl bus, driven by a 33-year-old man from Nova Serrana (MG). Boxes and bags containing a large quantity of shoes were found inside the vehicle. Also according to the PRF, the vehicle's characteristics had been altered and almost all the passenger seats had been removed in order to accommodate the cargo. There were also packages being transported in the luggage compartment.


The driver did not provide tax documentation for the goods. According to the PRF, the man already had a record for transporting irregular goods, including two of them on the same bus that was approached in this incident. He was arrested and taken to the police station.
