Joint operation found clandestine warehouse in Vila Portes containing wine, perfume, cosmetics, and electronics.

On Monday morning (8), a joint operation by the Federal Revenue Service and the Federal Police resulted in the seizure of a large shipment of contraband goods in Foz do Iguaçu. The products were hidden in a clandestine warehouse inside a residential building located in Vila Portes, a neighborhood near the International Friendship Bridge.
Seized products and value
During the inspection, officials from the Baggage Inspection Division (Dibag) identified around 100 items of different categories. Among them were wines, perfumes, cosmetics, and electronics. The total value of the cargo was estimated at R$ 500,000.

Those responsible for the goods were released, but the Federal Revenue Service announced that a criminal complaint will be filed with the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office. The goods were sent to the Federal Revenue Service Customs Office in Foz do Iguaçu, where they will undergo legal proceedings.
Strengthening the crackdown on smuggling
The Foz do Iguaçu Customs Office has specialized teams from Dibag and the Division for the Suppression of Smuggling and Embezzlement (Direp), which operate in primary and secondary areas of the border. These operations are part of an ongoing effort to combat embezzlement and drug trafficking, strengthening national security and the economy.
According to the Federal Revenue Service, the result of this action was made possible thanks to joint logistics and intelligence work. The institution emphasized that integrated operations such as this reaffirm the commitment to protect Brazilian society against illegal practices in the border region.
