Operation "Centopéia"

Garé IP accompanied “Operation Centopeia,” the result of yet another successful partnership between trademark owners and the Federal Revenue Service's Division for Combating Smuggling and Embezzlement (DIREP) – 8th Region.

Following the success of previous operations, such as “Patrão” and “Imperador,” intelligence work monitoring social media and field surveillance carried out by the investigation team led to the seizure of counterfeit footwear, valued at R$ 4 million at market prices, which was destined for both the online and offline markets.

Coordinated and strategic actions between public and private entities have a decisive impact on combating the illegal market, which is becoming increasingly sophisticated, jeopardizing consumer integrity and harming the formal economy.
