Tax analysts seize R$ 400,000 worth of illegal goods in Santa Catarina

The operation was carried out in Porto Belo and aimed to combat the illegal entry and circulation of goods in the country.


Federal Revenue Service tax analysts seized more than R$ 400,000 in contraband goods during an inspection on the BR-101 highway in Porto Belo, Santa Catarina, last Sunday (22).



The operation was carried out by Surveillance and Enforcement teams from the Federal Revenue Service in Joinville and Florianópolis, with the aim of combating the illegal entry and circulation of goods in the country. According to information from the Federal Revenue Service, the target was a bus that left Foz do Iguaçu and was heading to Criciúma.


During the inspection, goods characterized as smuggled and contraband were identified, predominantly electronic products. The estimated value of the seized goods exceeds R$ 400,000. In addition to the products, the bus used for transportation was also seized.
